The Business Manager leads business operations and financial oversight for all aspects of the company. The Business Manager inspires the studio to achieve new levels of success by risk management, financial controlling, precise accounting, and forecasting.
•Management. Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure results consistent with the overall strategy and mission. Maintain accounting in an organizational structure adequate for achieving the goals and objectives.
•Accounting: Handles all aspects of accounting and financial management for the firm including budgeting, profit analysis, billing, audits and reconciliations. Manages accounting staff to execute payroll, AP/AR, tax preparation and reporting.
•Planning. Forecast revenue and profitability. Formulate and develop the company's future direction supporting tactical initiatives. Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction.
•Compliance. Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants. Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
•Financial. Issue timely and complete financial statements. Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics and report significant issues to management. Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
• Strong Accounting/Controller experience preferred.
•Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision
•An entrepreneurial mindset with outstanding organizational and leadership skills
•Experience in the A&E industry is strongly preferred. Experience with a creative service business also a plus.
•Strong understanding of performance management principles
•Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, PR, finance etc.
• In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
•Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
•Excellent communication skills
•BA/MA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field. MBA and/or CPA preferred.
